REED PAGES.
It’s no secret that I am a magazine fanatic. I simply love the printed word. I’ve worked with many different magazines in the past and I’ve enjoyed all of those experiences, but I always knew in the back of my mind that I would one day need to put something out on my own. I’ve got a number of different ideas for magazines I’d like to put out. But the one that kept rising to the surface was the idea of creating a publication that represented what our store and gallery Reed Space is all about. If anyone knows anything about Reed Space, it actually represents so much more than a physical shop. It’s really a spirit and mentality, and if anything, is a physical representation of this Positive Social Contagion I keep harping about. Really, it’s the cornerstone for everything we believe in at Staple Design. So with all that said, I am really (like, REALLY) proud to introduce to you, REED PAGES.
I think when you get a chance to peep Reed Pages, you’ll find it’s not what you might expect from a publication that a “street culture shop” puts out. Reed Pages is at the forefront of contemporary culture, art and design. It is dedicated to delivering inspirational, informative and authentic content. It brings together the new and the reinvented, the homegrown and the foreign, and the independents and the conglomerates.
Whether it be visual, experiential, commercial or conceptual, the features are selected for their contributions and impact felt around the world. From cover to cover, Reed Pages influences its readers to learn, interact, create and be an active participant of the contemporary lifestyle.
There are no small stories in Reed Pages, thus the features are organized alphabetically. Every subject, every place and every single thing is given equal prominence. Everything we cover inspires us in some way, and we aim to share this inspiration with our readers.
On Advertising:
Reed Pages does not have advertisers, only supporters and sponsors. The production of this publication is made possible by companies and organizations that provide us with grants and funding. We seek the assistance of groups that align themselves with the same ideologies that founded Reed Pages: Supporting a positive social contagion. Issue after Issue. Page after Page. When you get your hands on an issue, you’ll see how we show love to the people and companies that show love to us. We hope you find it like a breath of fresh air. Starting next week, Reed Pages will be available at Reed Space and soon thereafter, in select retailers around the globe. Be on the look out! For now you can thumb through the issue online at our site. You can also order issues and subscriptions as well. Making this is still new to us so let us know what you think! We’re still learning as we go. But the process should be damn fun. (I also definitely want to thank every single person who helped make this premier issue happen. Y’all know who you are.)
僕が熱狂的な雑誌オタクであることはもはや秘密ではありません。僕は印刷された活字が大好きです。過去にたくさんの雑誌と携り、それらすべてはとてもいい経験でしたが、いつも頭の奥ではいつか自分で何か出版しないといけないと思っていました。僕が出したい雑誌には色々なアイディアがありした。でも、いつも行き着いたのは僕達のショップとギャラリー、Reed Spaceが何を表現しているのかについての出版物を作るアイディアでした。Reed Spaceを少しでも知っている人はご存知の通り、ただのショップではありません。それはスピリットとメンタリティー、そして、何より僕がいつも言う、「社会にポジティブな伝染」を物質的に表現したショップです。本当に、僕達Staple Designの信念の象徴なのです。そして、皆さんにREED PAGESをご紹介できることを大変（いや、マジで）誇りに思います。
Reed Pagesを見れば、普通の「ストリートカルチャーショップ」が出すような出版物ではないことが分かると思います。Reed Pagesはコンテンポラリーカルチャー、アートとデザインの最先端をいっています。インスパイアし、有益で確実なコンテンツを配信するよう取り組んでいます。新しいものと再発されたもの、国内と国外、個人会社と複合企業をすべてを集結しています。ビジュアル的や試験的、商業的か概括的であるかに関わらず、すべての内容はそれらが世界にどのような影響を与え、社会に貢献しているかによって選ばれています。最初から最後まで、Reed Pagesは読者に学び、相互に作用し、作り出し、コンテンポラリーなライフスタイルに積極的に参加するように感化します。
Reed Pagesには小さな記事がないため、すべてアルファベット順に構成されています。すべての人、場所、物は平等に扱われています。僕達が取材することはすべて僕達をインスパイアし、それが僕達の読者にもインスパイアするように目指しています。
