OBEY POP-UP @ REED ANNEX!
We are proud to host Shepard Fairey’s & Obey’s pop up retail store! Shepard Fairey and Deitch Projects are in midst of an upcoming exhibition which will also include a Shepard Fairey rendition on the famed Houston Street mural in Soho. In conjunction with this, Fairey’s clothing label OBEY will launch a special Pop-up Shop revolving around the “May Day” Art Show. The space which will be held at the Reed Space Annex, will include some exclusive showcases of some of Fairey’s items over the years as well as art and imagery from the celebrated artist. The Deitch exhibition will open on May 1st, 2010 while the Annex Pop-Up shop begins a day earlier on Friday, April 30th till May 16th, 2010.
Shepard FaireyとObeyのホップアップストアを開催します！Shepard FaireyとDeitch Projectsはこれから開催される展覧会の準備真っ只中です。あの有名なソーホーにあるHouston Streetの壁にShepard Faireyのアートも展示されます。そして、Faireyのアパレルブランド、OBEYは「May Day」アートショーと関連して特別Pop-upショップを開店します。Reed Space Annexで行われ、特別にFaireyの長年にわたる数々のアイテムだけでなく、人気アーティストのアートや画像もショーケースされます。Deitchの展覧会は2010年5月1日に初日を向かえ、Annex Pop-upショップはその一日前の2010年4月30日から2010年5月16日まで開かれます。

Erykah Returns
少し前のお話になるのですが、大大大大尊敬＆ラブなErykah Baduを見に行きました。
かれこれ１０年以上前に観に行ったところと同じ場所。Yes, Yokohama Bayhall..
登場するや否や大歓声。Erykahは相変わらずステキだった。
大きな黒いトップハットからnappyなbraidsが溢れ出ていて、レトロな大きめのサングラスからも目力は健在。
ゼブラ柄っぽいオーバーサイズのオーバーコートを着てステージ中央に立つと、サイドテーブルに置いてあったティーカップを持ち上げてゆっくりと飲む。（それだけで大歓声）
まるでちょっと funky なMad Hatter の tea party。Erykahらしい演出だな。
２時間以上のパフォーマンスは本当に素晴らしくて、途中で３回くらい感極まって涙しちゃいました。
あの歌唱力、演技力、発想力、表現力。すべてが神業でした。
身も心も満ち足りて、本当に素敵な夜でした。

ちなみに、来日中に沖縄の米軍基地でもプロモーションライブをしたらしいのですが、
やっぱりちょっとノリが違う。英語が通じるのをわかっているからかしら。。

And heck, I’ve worn these basketball shoes to more than one wedding in my day. Shows you how fly these AJs are. I won’t politic anymore. I’ll just let the fans do the talking. The Sneaker News March Madness tournament rolls on. Our beloved Staple Pigeon Nike Dunk outdid De La Soul’s 3 Ft High & Rising Dunk. (2,308 vs 1,085 votes). Our next opponent is the formidable Nike Heineken Dunk. A legend onto itself because Heineken actually sued Nike SB for this and they had to stop production and recall the design. But “F” that! VOTE PIGEON! VOTE PIGEON! VOTE PIGEON! VOTE PIGEON! VOTE PIGEON! VOTE PIGEON! VOTE PIGEON!
