先日はひょんなきっかけで再会＆出会い＆繋がりを全て一度に感じる出来事がありました。

その中心になってくれたのが、恵比寿のレアスニーカーショップ PASSOVER のシゲ君＆フレンズ。

面白い方達と会うから一緒にどう？と言われて行ったのが恵比寿の某ホテル。

そこでまず登場したのが現在日本で勉強中のAlbert Kim。

初対面だったのですが、

日本語でアメリカンジョークを言ってしまうのがかなりツボですぐ仲良くなっちゃいました。

そして次にいらしたのが Tokyo Drive のケンタさん。

以前に reed space tokyo で取材をして頂いてからメールなどでは連絡があったものの、

久しぶりの再会にお互いビックリ。でも会えて良かったです。

そして最後にいらしたのが Fatlace の Mark Arcenal 氏。

ビジネスについてたくさん話しができました。

さらに、なんとケンタさんとMarkと私にはとても近いところで共通の友達がいた事に

やはり世界は狭いと感じてしまいました。

Six degrees of separation 説がありますが、実はもっと少ないのではないかと思えた夜でした。

PUMA Pre-Launched

昨日はけっこう雪が降っていたのに、残念ながら積もりませんでした。。

前回の大雪（東京基準）の時から残っていた雪の固まり達も溶け去っていかれました。。

さて、本題です。

いつもたくさんのアパレル関連のイベントに招待させていただいてますので、

これからはその情報なども皆様にお伝えできればと思いパーティールポをスタートしました。

記念すべくその第１弾は Rudolf Dassler by PUMA の 08AW Pre-launch event with VAN SHE です。

Rudolf Dassler 氏は1948年にPUMA を設立したらしいのです。

それから60年経っているんですね〜。

すごくカッコいいと思ったのがこのロゴ。

当時Dassler氏は頭文字のDの中をプーマが飛んでいるデザインをロゴにしたらしいのですが、

今でもまったく古いと感じさせない、いや、古いからむしろ新しい？？ほどの斬新さです。

レッスン１：良いブランドは良いロゴから始まる。

中に入ると昔のPUMAがきれいに展示されていました。

お〜！！まさにヴィンタージです！！

この靴たちはいままでどんな人や時代を経てここへやってきたのでしょうか？？

どんな職人さんが作ったの？

どうやって作ったの？ ？

だれが履いていたの？？ ？

考えるだけでも鳥肌です。

レッスン２：良い物は時が経っても衰えない。いろんな意味で。そしてむしろ味がどんどん出る。

そしてシメは VAN SHE のライブ！！

サイケデリックロックなテクノなバンドです。

かなりヨーロッパの匂いがすると思っていたのですが、

実は彼らは2007年にデビューしたばかりのオーストラリアのバンドだそうです。

Rudolf Dassler の衣装がとっても良く似合っていた長身でスキニーな方達でした。

レッスン３：ブランドお披露目イベントにはフレッシュなアーティストを起用すること。

ん〜〜〜〜。すごく勉強になりますね！

MY PEOPLES

Congrats to Kevin Ma, the Founder of Hypebeast for being the coverstar of the recent issue of Antenna Magazine. It’s amazing to see how far this culture has gone. It’s one thing that an entire magazine from Harris Publications is dedicated to streetwear. It’s one thing to put a legendary artist or designer on the cover. But to put the founder of a blog on the cover? That’s kinda major. Streetwear has gone beyond the players. Even the people who cover the players are players now.
Antenna Magazineのカバースターに輝いたHypebeast創設者のケビン・マー氏、おめでとうございます。このカルチャーがここまで来ましたか。ハリス出版社がまるまる一冊のマガジンをストリートウェアに捧げることも、伝説的なアーティストやデザイナーをカバーにすることも、すごいです。けれども、ブログの創設者をカバーに？これは大事です。ストリートウェアは今やもうplayerを取り上げる人たちまでもplayerになってしまいました。

Also congrats to my friend, John Lee who is the founder of Theme Magazine. He is featured in the new Blackberry adverts. Again…a great example of our culture finally getting the shine we long deserve. Little do people know though, that John only knows how to use a beeper.
そして、Theme Magazineの創設者で友人であるジョン・リー氏にもおめでとう。彼はBlackberryの新しい広告にフィーチャーされています。これもまた、僕たちのカルチャーがやっと認められた証拠のひとつです。ただ、ジョンがポケベルしか使いこなせないのを知っている人は少ないのです。

And in case you’re not completely tired of reading interviews with me, SlamXHype just dropped “The Remix” to my Q+A with The Hundreds. It’s kind of like the follow up…Promise…there’s no repeat questions.

Dime MagazineとCornerstoneの友人たちがBorn Readyと言うドキュメンタリーを手がけています。
コニーアイランドが輩出したバスケの若手有望株＝ランス・スティーブンソン。
すべてのエピソードを一揆に一回で見てしまいました。
結構ハマるし、内容もおもしろいんです。
高校2年生が次世代のレブロン・ジェームスともてはやされるストーリー。
プレッシャーかけられてますね。

バルセロナからの写真が残っていたから紹介します。

Thanks to Tetsuya from New Balance for bringing me some souvenirs from Japan. It’s been a minute since I’ve been to Japan…Nothing like limited edition Kit Kats and Pigeon Cookie Keychains to bring me back.
日本のお土産を持ってきてくれたNew Balanceの哲也氏に感謝です。
ついさっき日本にいた気がするけど。。。
限定物のキットカットとハトサブレーのキ−チェーンは日本のことを思い出させてくれます。

One of the things I always look forward to at Bread and Butter, is Yoske Nishiumi’s visit. He always cooks up some new creation for the big event, and it’s usually in conjunction with Asics. This year was no different. Instead of actual sneakers, he created a cool sculpture of his signature koi fish transforming into a pair of kicks. The packaging and execution on this is dope. You should read up on Yoske here.
Bread and Butterでいつも楽しみなのは西海洋介氏と会うことです。
毎回このイベントのために新しいクリエーションを披露してくれます。
それも、多くの場合はAsicsとの接点があって、今年も例外ではありません。
実物のスニーカーを作る代わりに鯉が徐々にキックスに変身するスカルプチャーを持ってきていました。
パッケージングもできばえもヤバイです！洋介についてもっと知りたい人はこちらでどうぞ。

In my opinion, the master of sneaker customization right now is NashMoney. He had an exhibition with Trust Nobody and he brought of his newest creations by our booth. He got nasty with an Air Max 97 and a Visvim FBT. So dope with the execution. This guy is really killin the game! I don’t know why a footwear company hasn’t scooped him up yet.
俺が考える中で今スニーカーのカスタマイズする人たちで一番アツイのがNashMoney。
Trust Nobodyとの展示会をしていて、俺たちのブースに彼が最新作を持ってきてくれました。
とにかくカッコイイ！He’s killin’ the game!
どのスニーカーのメーカーさんもなぜ未だに彼を引き抜いていないのかが分からないくらいです。

MADRID

After I spent a week in Barcelona for work, I decided to take the rest of the weekend and hop over to Madrid for a few days. I never been to the city and I’ve heard mixed reviews. Mostly negative reviews from my Barcelona-based friends…(there seems to be some NY-LA-type beef there). But after a weekend in the city, I found it be beautiful and in many ways, more pleasant and enjoyable than Barcelona. But I’m always in BCN for work, so maybe it’s not a fair comparison.
一週間仕事でバルセロナに滞在した後、週末2,3日マドリードに飛ぶことにしました。実はマドリードに行くのは初めてで、マチマチの評判を聞いていました。バルセロナ在住の友人たちからは悪い評判ばかり(なんだか、NY対LAビーフと似たものがあるらしい）。でも、週末過ごしてみて、バルセロナより楽しく満喫できたような気がします。バルセロナはいつも仕事関係でいくから、比べちゃいけないかもしれないですけど

I thought this was interesting. The only known statue of Satan in Europe and possibly the world. I thought it was gonna be much more demonic. But the base of it is pretty ill.
これはおもしろいです。ヨーロッパ、そして、たぶん世界で唯一のサタン像。もっと邪悪な像だと想像していました。ベース部分は結構カッコイイです。

I thought Supreme opened a store in Madrid when I saw this. But I asked James to confirm and it’s a completely fake Supreme/Union store! I’ve seen bootleg clothes…but a whole shop? That’s craziness. Next time you’re in Madrid, go in there and tell them how wack they are.
これを見たときマドリードにSupremeがオープンしたかと思いました。でも、ジェームズに確認したら、これはまったくのニセSupreme/Unionストアだったのです！ブートレッグの洋服は見たことあるけど、丸ごと店をパクるか？
オカシイです。今度皆さんがマドリードに行かれた時は、ここに行って奴らにどれだけイケてないか言ってやってください。
